Abstract

The organotypic co-culture skin model has been providing an advanced approach to the in vitro investigation of the skin. Mast cells, containing various mediators such as tryptase and chymase, are thought to contribute to many physiological and pathological events of the skin interactively with other cells. Here, we introduce an organotypic co-culture skin model which successfully integrates human dermal mast cells for further study of mast cell interactions with fi broblasts and keratinocytes.
