Abstract

The present paper tackles blinking description within the context of automatic generation of Sign Languages (SLs). Blinking is not much taken into account into SL processing systems even though its importance is underlined in several studies. Our purpose is to improve knowledge on blinking so as to be able to generate them. We present the methodology we used for this purpose and the results we obtained. We list the main categories we have identified in our corpus, and present in more details an excerpt of our results corresponding to the most frequent category, i.e. segmentation. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
