Abstract

Against the backdrop of the Kantian and Jonasian phenomenology of life, the author argues for an ethics of the human species and highlights the issues surrounding the principles of an emergent school of speculative philosophy, namely Transhumanism, which champions our technological opportunities to redesign the human condition, to enhance our intellectual, physical and emotional capacities, and to free us from our confinement on planet earth. © 2013 CSIC.
