Abstract

The main autumn movements through Britain are oriented S-SSE for a short English Channel crossing. Adults move more directly than juveniles, and the latter have a marked exploratory phase of post- fledging dispersal. In the spring, first-year birds arrive back later than older individuals. © 1979 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
