Abstract

Becoming a world class university is one of the main objective set by Institutions of Higher Educations (IHE) in Malaysia. In order to maintain the Research Universities (RU) status, academicians need to monitor their publications performance. To monitor publications performance, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) academicians submitted related publications performance data in multiple data accumulation center. However, data in this center are dispersed and disorganized due to various online and offline data sources. They tend to have flaws such as missing values, inconsistency data, and redundant data and so on. Hence, this paper aims to show data pre-processing techniques used to produce a clean and quality data for Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) publication performance analysis. For this research study, required data were provided by UTM management level.
