Abstract

Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:. To assess the effects of the low FODMAP diet on global symptoms (defined by the overall IBS Symptom Severity Score) in adults with IBS. Secondary objectives include assessing the impact of the low FODMAP diet on individual symptoms (including pain, bloating, and bowel habit dissatisfaction) and overall quality of life, as well as assessing potential adverse effects.
