Abstract

Microwaves irradiation has proved to be a faster method than the traditional ones for transesterification reactions with high activity and yields to biodiesel in the alcoholysis of triglycerides with methanol; it prevents the degradation of the products and needs a shorter reaction time together ith a lower energy consumption. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.
