Abstract

This work describes the method of generalized projections (MGP) as an image-based, postprocessing method to correct for phase inconsistencies caused by echo misalignments in radial imaging. Computer simulations show that MGP can correct for echo shifts, constant phase, and amplitude errors, but the accuracy of the correction is limited, and this accuracy is reduced by the addition of more degrees of freedom. In phantom experiments, MGP performed better than magnitude filtered backprojection and anti-parallel projections correction. © 2005 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
