This study is based on mobile-assisted language learning and specifically focuses on the interaction diversity between English teachers and TESOL students. A smartphone app WeChat is applied in three English Reading classes for undergraduate English major students at Shenzhen University, China. The results indicate that all participants stay on line with WeChat all day long and are interested in using it in English learning. Especially in class, students enjoy taking multi-step directions with WeChat, asking for help in time, and, the most importantly, sharing their opinions or reports more willingly than in traditional class. Besides, the application of WeChat extends the interaction between students and teachers from classroom to wherever they go, from class time to anytime convenient for them, which builds a strong connection and narrows the mental distance between students and teachers. The study offers a successful teaching case: a mobile-assisted English Reading class in China.
