Abstract

Bicompartmental osteoarthritis (OA) affects both the medial tibiofemoral and the patellofemoral compartment, in which case it is called mediopatellofemoral (MPF) osteoarthritis [1]. Selective resurfacing of either the medial or the patellofemoral compartment has been reported to be safe and efficient [2, 3]. It tends to be more controversial if the arthritis is limited to two compartments of the knee and there is no significant deformity, excellent motion, and intact cruciate ligaments. These patients are thus candidates for bicompartmental resurfacing [4]
