Abstract

The present chapter is an introduction to computational approaches for multiscale problems such as (1). We successively discuss herein three different categories of methods. The first method is a direct application of homogenization theory. The second method, multiscale approaches, uses homogenization theory as a guideline to design an efficient computational approach. The third method is designed as a way to address random settings that are close to nice deterministic (say, periodic) settings.
