Abstract

We present some aspects of our embodied conversational agent (ECA) that is a chatterbot interface integrated into a website. Our paper highlights only two important attributes of the system: the visualization of the synthetic character and the use of fast emotion generation. We consider several approaches to graphical realization and explain the reasons behind our decision. Also, we briefly describe our emotion generation module from the architectural and theoretical perspectives. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.
