Abstract

Integrated Disease Management (IDM) as a strategy for controlling the spread of vector-borne disease utilizes the transmission cycle of the disease as the foundation for developing surveillance programs which utilize life history and environmental data. The steps and components required for the implementation of an IDM program are described with respect to controlling malaria. © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2010.
