Abstract

Anterior shoulder instability is the most common type of instability, especially concerning traumatic cases. Recently, much controversy has arisen in the management of anterior shoulder dislocation. To help clinicians make right choices in treatment options, this chapter tries to clarify issues regarding functional changes in shoulder girdle biomechanics in these patients. Different kinds of conservative treatment are described, showing existing exercise protocols, and presenting scientific evidence for their effectiveness.
