In this study, it is hypothesized that word stimuli, which are presented by Google's related search terms, would improve the quality of design concepts of game graphics. Result shows that the final creativity of the designs generated with word stimuli were significantly higher than designs without any stimuli. Despite this, a significant relationship between creativity and levels of stimuli was not observed. However, resulting terms more highly related to the search term were used more often than those less related. We proposed that related search terms may be effective as stimuli in the process of concept generation of game graphics. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media.
