Abstract

The traditional teaching approach in Malaysia is claimed to have caused boredom and potentially reduces students learning performance, and their abilities have been decreasing over the years, leading them into confusion and frustration. Through exhaustive observations made, it was found that a lot of higher institutions of education in Malaysia have not yet adapted learning management system (LMS) to improve students’ learning performance and interest. Based on the current and existing work reviewed, none of the universities evaluated the effectiveness of the LMS despite claims of successes. From the information gathered, previous works have overlooked the significance of evaluating effectiveness of using LMS, and therefore, this research takes the opportunity to look into untapped issues. For this research, the sample population to measure the effectiveness of using LMS at the university level is taken from students in pre-MUET classes who will be sitting for MUET examination in University Putra Malaysia (UPM).
