Abstract

Interactive tools and learning environments have a high potential to facilitate learning. We developed the app LB2M for two-dimensional Lattice Boltzmann-based flow simulation on Android devices. The software enables interactive simulation and visualization of various flow scenarios. We detail the software with regard to design, simulation kernel, and visualization. In particular, we demonstrate how the app can be used to teach basics of fluid dynamics in beginner’s courses at the example of cavity flow.
