Abstract

Abstract. Children with Special Needs or abbreviated as ABK, are children who have limitations on something from birth or because of illness. Online learning is new for children with special needs and their teachers too. There has been a change in interacting and communicating between the teaching and learning process between offline and online schools. Feeling that communication will be different, the interaction will also be different, one of which is symbolic interaction which will be diverse because it is through electronic media. Based on the case that occurred, there are 5 research questions that have been formulated as follows: (1) How are the differences in the symbolic interactions that occur between teachers and students? (2) How is effectiveness built during the teaching and learning process? (3) What are the perceived obstacles and their solutions? (4) How is the communication strategy developed by the teacher for online learning? (5) Why is this communication strategy needed?. The researcher uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach, by conducting data collection techniques from interviews, observations, literature studies, and documentation. The main sources are two teachers, one teacher for deaf students and one teacher for mentally retarded students. The results that researchers get in this study are the results of 5 research questions that have been grouped previously. Abstrak. Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus atau disingkat ABK, merupakan anak yang memiliki keterbatasan akan suatu hal dari lahir maupun karena sakit. Pembelajaran online dirasa baru untuk anak-anak berkebutuhan khusus dan gurunya juga. Terjadilah perubahan berinteraksi dan berkomunikasi yang dilakukan antara proses belajar mengajar antara sekolah offline dan online. Merasa komunikasi yang akan berbeda juga maka interaksi juga akan berbeda, salah satunya interaksi simbolik yang akan menjadi beragam karena melalui media elektronik. Berdasarkan kasus yang terjadi maka terdapat 5 pertanyaan penelitian yang telah dirumuskan sebagai berikut: (1) Bagaimana perbedaan interaksi simbolik yang terjadi antara guru dan muridnya? (2) Bagaimana efektivitas dibangun selama proses belajar mengajar berlangsung? (3) Bagaimana hambatan yang dirasakan beserta penyelesaiannya? (4) Bagaimana strategi komunikasi yang dibentuk guru untuk belajar online? (5) Mengapa diperlukan strategi komunikasi tersebut?. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif  pendekatan studi kasus, dengan melakukan Teknik pengumpulan data dari mulai wawancara, observasi, studi kepustakaan, dan dokumentasi. Adapun narasumber utamanya yaitu dua orang guru satu guru pengajar murid tunarungu dan satu guru pengajar murid tunagrahita. Juga narasumber tambahan dua murid tunagrahita dan satu murid tunarungu. Hasil yang peneliti dapat dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil dari 5 pertanyaan penelitian yang telah dikelompokan sebelumnya.
