Examines the use of fire to achieve management objectives in the context of southern Africa, with attention paid to: systems with domestic grazers and browsers; systems with wild grazers and browsers; systems to create habitats for other wild animals; wilderness and recreation areas; systems for increasing water yield; protection of property; systems in which plants are harvested for direct sale; and aiding the introduction of exotics.
