Synopsis of the Bee Genus Ceratina (Insecta: Hymenoptera: Apidae) in Nepal, with Descriptions of Five New Species and One New Subspecies

Abstract

Thirteen taxa belonging to five subgenera of the genus Ctiratina Latreille, 1802 are recorded from Nepal. Six of them are described as five new species, C (Ceratina) belliata sp. nov., C (Areoceratina) taiceshii sp, nov., C (Ctttocer-atina) splendida sp. nov,, C (Ceratinidia) himatayana sp. nov., and C (Cera-tinidia) gurkhana sp. nov., and a new subspecies of C, (Ceratinidia) oki-nawana Matsumura and Uchida, 1926, C okinawana nepalensts ssp. nov. Close relatives of the new taxa are discussed.
