Abstract

Extreme mountain biking has gained enormous popularity in recent years, especially some subdisciplines. The industry and some experts estimate that several millions of athletes perform and practice this sport all over the world. Unfortunately, detailed demographic data about each subdiscipline is lacking. In the following chapter, information about sports equipment, subdiscipline, injury rate, and pattern is explained.
