Abstract

Technological advances and a more energy conscious public are some of the factors that contribute to greater energy efficiency. The use of alternative energy sources, particularly solar energy, is described. Besides public attitude, there are three areas where changing approaches to energy are likely to affect future building activities: international activities, technological advances, and the role of government and utilities. This article discusses each of these areas.
