Abstract

Simple equations were analyzed for estimating the volume of Dipterocarpus confertus in PT Gunung Gajah Abadi Wahau East Kutai, East Kalimantan. The objective of this research was to develop accurate equations that can be applied to estimate the tree volume in the research area .These equations were made only based on one variable,i.e. the diameter.This model analysis was further continued after examining the correlation between diameter and clearbole height. The best model based was chosen based on the following values, namely: determination coefficient (R 2), standard error (SE), aggregatif deviation (SA) and average deviation (SR). Analysis results showed that there was a close correlation between diameter and clear height with (r) value of 0.85. The proposed equation for the tree volume table is V = 0.2758-0.0286 d + 0.0014 d 2
