Abstract

Physeal distraction, not for lengthening but for epiphysiolysis, provides a safe margin of resection in selected cases. The technique does not delay tumour treatment: all that is required is 15 min, a fortnight before the established date for surgery, for placing the external fixator. © 2009 Springer-Verlag London.
