Abstract

This paper describes a Genetic Algorithm approach to solve a task scheduling problem at a small size manufacturing company. The operational solution must fulfill two basic requirements: low cost and usability. The proposal was implemented and results obtained with the system lead to better results compared to previous and non-computerized solutions. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.
