Abstract

Venous diseases are common conditions that not only involve cosmetic impairment caused by varicose veins, but, more importantly, result in possible complications and the late effects of chronic venous insufficiency or a thromboembolic event. These are associated with considerable risks for those affected, as well as having cost implications for the general public.
