Abstract

In this work, a glassy carbon electrode was modified with a methionine functionalized conjugated molecule, realizing a novel Hg2+ electrochemical sensor. The overall assay scheme included an accumulation step, the electrochemical measurement and a regeneration step. All these aspects have been optimized including accumulation time, cleaning procedure and stability of the sensing layer. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.
