This entirely new book was written to serve as a companion volume to "Dematiaceous Hyphomycetes" [RPP 51, 118]. It includes descriptions and figures of a further 732 spp. with keys, a host index, a glossary of terms and a comprehensive index. A much fuller account of Cercospora and allied genera is given than was possible in the earlier vol. and other economically important genera treated include Alternaria, Cladosporium, Drechslera, Embellisia, Phialophora, Pycnostysanus, Spilocaea, Stachybotrys and Ulocladium. Current knowledge of this group is brought up to date and the majority of new genera published since 1971 are included.
