A influência do método mãe-canguru na recuperação do recém-nascido em Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal: uma revisão de literatura

Abstract

The mother's separation from the newborn after birth due to hospital admission influences in the continuity of the affectionate bond, affecting both, the newborn and the mother. The aim of this study is to identify this influence in the relation mother-son admitted in the neonatal intensive care unit; to know how the affectionate bond occurs by means of the utilization of the approach and how the attachment can influence in the prognostic of the newborn interned and the mother's attitude facing the hospitalisation. This study used a bibliographical research in the period from 1983 to 2002. Observing the efficacy of the approach as a facilitator of the attachment, promoting a better prognostic of the newborn interned and increasing confidence and maternal adaptation facing the situation. The relation of attachment between mother and son is inseparable and very important and the nursing interventions should lessen the mother and newborn separation, preventing future and immediate sequels to the ones involved.
