THE IMPLEMENTATION OF CHARACTER EDUCATION IN EARLY CHILDHOOD THROUGH HABITUATION AND EXEMPLARY. Moral degradation in instilling character values in children is the most important means in the pillar of education towards efforts to foster positive dedication for children in respecting the rules of life such as ethics and behavior patterns. This study aims to describe the implementation of character education in early childhood through habituation and exemplary with characters that are focused only on the character of discipline. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a phenomenological study. This research was conducted at RA Al-Istiqomah. Based on the research, it shows that the process of applying disciplined character in habits and exemplary in RA Al-Istiqomah can be seen from the results of religious values which become one of the triggers or values that emphasize moral relativity as a function in building moral leadership (self-discipline) with implicates for 4 characters including religion, responsibility, respect, and discipline as an improvement as well as the basis for student thinking and behavior. Habit which is realized by routine activities, spontaneous activities, programmed activities and exemplary which are applied in a way that can be seen by children, the way teachers or educators give examples to children by responding to people who need around them.
