Abstract

The concept of femoroacetabular impingement has been popularized by Ganz et al. as mechanical cause of hip pain and the development of osteoarthritis in the hip [1]. Contact resulting from the loss of anterior offset at the femoral head-neck junction has been termed cam impingement, and contact due to increased coverage of the anterior aspect of the acetabulum has been termed pincer impingement.
