Abstract

This chapter presents the instruction on how to evaluate the reliability indices in the presence of renewable energy sources (RES) in DIgSILENT PowerFactory. In this chapter, the reliability issue is examined from two perspectives. In the first step, the impacts of RES on the improvement of various reliability indices are investigated. In the next step, how to calculate the fundamental reliability indices in the renewable power generation sector, such as loss of load probability (LOLP), is presented. To this end, different case studies are analyzed and the various reliability indices are assessed on the standard test system.
