Abstract

This paper proposes a primary color overlapping method for increasing the brightness of projection system using light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The proposed approach drives the pulse width modulated signals of red, green and blue LEDs. The proposed color overlapping method synthesizes secondary colors of yellow and cyan from primary colors of RGB. By the proposed method, brightness of the projected image is improved by bout 30%, compared to the conventional non-color overlapping method in a project system with LEDs.
