Abstract

The understanding of lacrimal embryology is very crucial to the understanding of lacrimal anatomy and its subsequent clinical and surgical applications. In addition, numerous congenital anomalies of the lacrimal system and their appropriate management largely depend on a sound knowledge of its evolution. A thorough insight of lacrimal embryology is essential for lacrimal surgeons, and this chapter precisely describes the evolutionary events in a lucid manner.
