Abstract

The livelihood strategies of forest-dependent communities in Southeast Asia have been highly diversified and flexible in reacting to local, national and international market demands, as well as in adapting to political, social and environmental changes. Among Dayak communities livelihood strategies are often described as consisting of subsistence activities with additional activities which serve to generate income.
