Abstract

This chapter displays the core concepts and principles of Orthodox Quantum Theory together with its mathematical formalism as a set of axioms. The general form of Heisenberg’s uncertainty relation is derived. Discussions of quantum uncertainty and the ‘Measurement Problem’ are presented. Two of the best known quantum paradoxes, Einstein-Podosky-Rosen and Schrödinger’s Cat, are outlined. ‘Hidden Variable’ theories are defined. Formulations of the Kochen-Specker Theorem and Bell’s Theorem are provided with a brief description of GHZ states.
