Abstract

The author discusses what a surgeon must do before performing any surgical procedure, how to avoid complications in breast reduction/mastopexy and what wound healing depends on.There is a description of what breast aesthetic appearance depends on as well as the possible complications of mastopexy/breast reduction that consists of infection, bleeding, hematoma, venous stasis of the nipple areolar complex (NAC), ischemia, and necrosis. Management of complications is discussed.
