Abstract

The structure of the Al0.83Cu0.17 eutectic alloy in the liquid state was studied by means of the X-ray diffraction and molecular dynamics. The total and partial structure factors were analyzed and subsequently used to calculate the pair correlation functions and partial correlation functions, the analysis of which allowed us to conclude that Al2Cu-like atomic groups are formed and distributed in the Al matrix.
