Abstract

This paper analyses one of the most important control system design issues, the controller performance. A blending process which can be modeled as First-Order plus Dead Time is selected to design closed loop with a PID controller. The tuning of the controller parameters has been done using Ziegler Nichols and Tyreus Luyben tuning techniques. The performance of the PID controllers has been evaluated by comparing set-point tracking and disturbance rejection capabilities.
