Fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base disorders are frequently encountered in family medicine. Detecting and treating these disorders is imperative due to effects on organ perfusion [1]. These disorders present in all age-groups and various clinical settings; but those with chronic diseases are particularly vulnerable to serious complications [2, 3].
