The worldwide flat panel display (FPD) market was growing steadily until 2008, but following a downturn in 2009, slow growth is forecast from 2010 to 2017. Despite this, faster growth opportunities may be found in specific display technologies or through adding-on functions to displays over the next several years. These faster growing areas include touch screens, e-paper displays, and OLED displays.
