Abstract

This paper presents a SEIG-IM system using a self excited induction generator driven by wind turbine and supplying an induction motor which is coupled to a centrifugal pump. A method to describe the steady state performance based on nodal analysis is presented. The proposed methodology is discussed in order to optimize the quantity of the pumped water. Therefore an optimal excitation capacitor for a given wind rotor speed is determined. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
