Abstract

Highlights Proximity-driven DNA nanosensors (PDNs) are widely used in biochemical sensing. Ionic strength, temperature, pH, and nucleases can affect the stability of PDNs. Targeting moieties can be used to direct PDNs to specific cells and tissues. Further research is needed to improve the sensitivity and selectivity of PDNs. Further research is needed to translate PDNs into on-site/point-of-care devices.
