Abstract

In this paper, we intend to devise a Novel Nature-inspired Meta-Heuristic algorithm named Venus Flytrap Optimization (VFO) suitable for solving various optimization problems. This algorithm is based on the rapid closure behavior of the Venus Flytrap (Dionaea Muscipula) leaves. This is due to the continuous stimulation of the trigger hairs by the fast movement of the prey. The empirical study of the proposed algorithm is done using various test functions.
