Abstract

This study documented the influence of age, sex, and body condition on blood hemoglobin concentrations (Hb) in wild meerkats (Suricata suricatta). Peripheral Hb increased with age, leveling off in adulthood, but was not influenced by sex or body condition. © Wildlife Disease Association 2012.
