Abstract

With the ever-growing need for intercultural communication, foreign language learning and teaching has become such a vast field of study and practice, that it is more and more important to investigate its particular specialized areas. Perspectives on Foreign Language Learning is devoted to three such areas. First, it looks into foreign language writing, which cannot be neglected in the language classroom because of the undeniable role of writing in the present-day world. Two other, related, focal points are culture, which has always been considered important by language educators, and media, whose role in modem communication is indisputable. Finally, the volume deals with issues related to foreign language classroom, where most language teaching and learning still takes place. We hope that the present selection of papers, written by leading Polish and foreign specialists and representing state-of-the-art research, will be of interest to both theoreticians and practitioners.
