Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the self-control of adolescent K-Pop fans. Phenomenological research design. Collecting data using interview, observation, and documentation studies. Checking the validity of the data through source triangulation, technical triangulation and time triangulation. Data analysis was carried out by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results showed that behavioral control was carried out by reducing the intensity of watching their idols through smartphones in the classroom and choosing not to open social media when there was a fanwar. Cognitive control is done by avoiding news platforms that often spread hoaxes and understanding the benefits of their penchant for K-Pop. Decision-making control is carried out by prioritizing personal needs, completing tasks first before watching their idols and choosing to buy K-Pop merchandise by saving or participating in giveaways on social media. Students who are fans of K-Pop define self-control as the ability to control, set boundaries and regulate behavior and feelings in life. The factors that influence the self-control of K-Pop fan students are scandals related to their idols and the occurrence of fan wars on social media. The self-control that K-Pop fan students have is able to help students control their behavior but still needs to be improved in several aspects. Counselors are expected to be able to provide services to students to improve self-control skills in their love of K-Pop. Abstrak: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontrol diri remaja penggemar K-Pop. Desain penelitian fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Pengecekan keabsahan data melalui triangulasi sumber, triangulasi teknik dan triangulasi waktu. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kontrol perilaku dilakukan dengan mengurangi intensitas dalam menonton idolanya melalui smartphone di dalam kelas dan memilih tidak membuka media sosial ketika terjadi fanwar. Kontrol kognitif dilakukan dengan menghindari platform berita yang sering menyebarkan hoax dan memahami manfaat dari kegemarannya terhadap K-Pop. Kontrol pengambilan keputusan dilakukan dengan mempriotitaskan kebutuhan diri, menyelesaikan tugas terlebih dahulu sebelum menonton idolanya dan memilih membeli merchandise K-Pop dengan menabung atau mengikuti giveaway di media sosial. Siswa penggemar K-Pop memaknai kontrol diri sebagai kemampuan untuk mengendalikan, membuat batasan dan mengatur perilaku dan perasaan dalam kehidupan. Faktor yang mempengaruhi kontrol diri siswa penggemar K-Pop yaitu adanya skandal terkait idolanya dan terjadinya fanwar di media sosial. Kontrol diri yang dimiliki siswa penggemar K-Pop mampu membantu siswa untuk mengendalikan perilakunya namun masih perlu untuk ditingkatkan dalam beberapa aspek. Konselor diharapkan mampu memberikan layanan bimbingan dan konseling pada siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kontrol diri dalam kegemaran terhadap K-Pop.
