Abstract

This work should interest students, researchers and professionals involved in environmental management. The book is divided into 4 parts. The first contains papers discussing problems in and approaches to ecotoxicology. The second deals with the responses of ecosystems to chemical stress. Its papers focus primarily on aquatic and marine systems, and analyze the effects of oil and heavy metal pollution, among other topics. The third part focuses on models and methods, delving into subjects such as mathematical models, bioaccumulation and biomonitoring. Papers in the last section deal with ecotoxicological decision making. Graphs and tables supplement the text, and an index is provided.
