In the experiments described, the size of the bubbles formed was determined by a pressure pulse technique. The nozzles used had 0. 32 to 0. 67 cm outer diameters and 0. 12 to 0. 33 cm inside diameters. The gas flow rate and oxygen concentration in the liquid iron were varied from 0. 1 to 33 cm**3/sec at 1600 C and 0. 0040 to 0. 0046%, respectively. From the measurements obtained an equation was derived to describe the size of bubbles in liquid iron in the whole range of gas flow rates investigated.
