Abstract

This paper presents an energy management strategy of a HES microgrid between the different elements of connected microgrids in an optimal way. It develops a new Fuzzy Logic Control method (FLC) of Hybrid Energy System (HES: PV/Wind turbine/battery/grid), that aims at minimizing the power fluctuation between the microgrid and the main grid (the utility grid) to cope with the power demands, reduce the troubles caused by the distributed renewable energy sources, decrease the deep discharges of the battery and preserve its lifetime. Indeed, many management scenarios can be proposed according to the available energy sources, the energy consumption, the energy exchanged with the main grid and the battery’s charge state in order to ensure the algorithm’s well-functioning. Rule-based and Fuzzy Logic Control systems are simulated using MATLAB/Simulink.
